CSA!
Our Community Supported Agriculture farm share has started! Hooray! This mean from now until December, I have a share of veggies from an organic farmer on Long Island.
The first week’s meals: (maybe the veggies will help!)
-Hash browns with roasted garlic, cheese (parm and guyere), and curly cress
-Sauteed chard with ham
-Roasted asparagus
-Green leaf lettuce salad
-Red leaf lettuce salad
-Wilted spinach salad
-Oregano chicken
Okay, so not all the ingredients are from the farmer, but sometimes we have to be creative in using everything up.

I’m blogging?
Hey there!
I do like to be a blogger?… Something I am thankful for today: that my dog Dylan doesn’t mind a homemade haircut.
School and work are busy busy. And wedding planning is new. (But fun!
First blog post back after a few months is always a bit random…

- Who’s your favorite of Looney Tunes characters? I don’t know – at one point, I remember a cartoon where there is a big droopy slow lazy dog, and to turn around, his head would shrink back and come out on the other side. That sounds weird, but he was nice.
- What have you done too much of lately? Eat salads, complain, search online for potential careers
- When did you last play cards? We bought cards in TN in case we needed them for Bonorro, but didn’t use them. Maybe at camp, um, 5 years ago?
- Where were your keys the last time you couldn’t find them? On the sink in the bathroom.
- Why didn’t you do today everything you were supposed to? These are silly questions. What am I supposed to say if I don’t have very many responsibilities? Refer to question 2.
We made chicken parm last night. (The light version.) Really involved prep, but tasty and only 300 calories.
I also hope to catch A Rod’s 500th tonight at the game. Wait, I mean Go Royals!

We had dinner at our friend’s Arik and Annie’s. They made us fabulous dinner, including a killer key lime pie. mmm. Speaking of Key lime pie, if you are ever in Red Hook, go get a mini dark chocolate dipped one on a stick from Steve’s. doublemmm. I heart brooklyn.
Sometimes work is slow and even Friday 5 gets done.
1. What item would you be embarrassed for people to know you own?
A gift from my mother: Lee’sSummitOpoly (yes, that would be Monopoly in the namesake of my hometown. Who in for an exciiiiting Friday night?!
2. What is something you splurged on just for you?
My new purse. I don’t think EJ will use it, so it’s just for me.
3. What is something that you own with no real world value that is priceless to you?
Old cards get me a little meepy, pictures, naturally.
4. Do you collect anything?
Hmm, I used to collect nerdy stuff, now I collect…books? Those don’t count. Shoes? Nope. I don’t think there is enough room in the house to really collect stuff.
5. What item belonging to a friend/family member do you covet?
Coveting is a deadly sin, right?
Friday Five
- What’s overdue for a good cleaning?
-Actually, I do pretty well. Although I have a pile of clothes that need ironing. Dylan could use a good cleaning.
- What’s overdue for some kind of professional examination, service, maintenance, or upkeep?
-The fridge, my bike, computer files, our furniture arrangements.
- Who’s overdue for a phone call or letter to you?
-I just wish I could stop playing phone tag with people – I owe lots of people calls.
- What’s overdue for an appearance in your neighborhood?
-The Atlantic Antic. Can’t wait for that. Celebrities, perhaps? Although I saw Jennifer Connolly last week. My life could be complete.
Who’s overdue for a good comeuppance?
-Hmm. George Bush? Or Dylan.
So for some reason this morning, there is an intermittent very high pitched noise – like your ears are ringing, but from far away and everyone can hear it. And it starts and stops randomly. I think my brain may explode.
Last night, I was the lone cheerleader for softball, and it turned out EJ’s team won and lost…they played themselves. Playing a team sport would be lots of fun, but I didn’t want to spend $100 on sand soccer…although maybe I should have. Maybe I’ll just go down to the barge pool beach on open team night.
Sorry about the various fonts; I haven’t figured out how to paste properly.
